To plan your timeline, we suggest that you attend one lesson each week leading up to your wedding, then add 1-2 weeks for flexibility if desired.

You’ll get increasingly busy as your wedding day approaches so it’s nice to have extra time built in should you need to skip a week. Also, some couples find that they’d like to schedule one or two extra lessons to practice at the studio and feel extra prepared for their time in the spotlight.

And yes, we’ve even had a couple come in for a dance lesson the day before their wedding! So it’s never too late.

Longer Timelines to Learn To Dance:
Beyond The Wedding Dance Prep
If you’ve always wanted to learn to dance and would like to enjoy ballroom dance as something fun to do together, it’s very helpful to begin group classes (or private lessons) six months to one year before your wedding. The skills and confidence you’ll gain will greatly assist you as you prepare for your wedding dance, and you’ll be able to enjoy dancing with your sweetheart for a lifetime.

We offer three wedding dance packages so you may choose the option that suits your desires, timeline, and budget. All of our wedding dance packages will ensure you feel comfortable, confident, and prepared for your first dance.

• 3 Wedding Lessons
  Our smallest package is three wedding lessons.  This is plenty of time to learn some basic steps to keep you moving on the dance floor - plus a simple entrance with a twirl and a nice ending dip. It’s perfect for couples who want to keep things easy and stress-free. This is also a great option for couples with limited time or budget to prepare for an elaborate wedding dance.
  
• 5 Wedding Lessons
  Our most popular package is five wedding lessons.  With this package you’ll learn a full choreography of achievable steps that express your song and delight your guests. This option allows you additional time to practice and feel more comfortable dancing with your partner.
• 10 Wedding Lessons
  Our largest package is ten wedding lessons. This is the perfect choice for couples who want to do something extra special and wow the crowd. With this program your first dance will be truly spectacular and a highlight of the evening!
  
• Extra Lessons
  And no matter which option you choose, you can always add on extra wedding lessons if you want more practice.

Wedding lessons are available by appointment Monday - Friday 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM.

Wedding couples are welcome and encouraged to attend our regular dance classes and to take advantage of our Get Started 50% off new student special. However if you want custom choreography to a specific song, you’ll need to sign up for Wedding Dance lessons.

If you have time, a great way to prepare for your wedding is to begin with Get Started. Over the course of a month, you’ll learn a variety of dances that will enable you to enjoy dancing together at your reception.

Then, if you’d like to learn a special routine for your first dance, you can sign up for Wedding Lessons. This will save you money, since you’ll have built a foundation of dance skills and will need fewer Wedding Lessons.

Yes, of course you can! If that works for you; that’s great. But we’ve found that most non-professionals have trouble picking up choreography from a video and making it look good with their partner. We’ve had more than one couple come to us for help after trying to learn a dance online…

Many of the flashy wedding dance videos you see online are performed by professionals. Their years of training make it look easy; but it doesn’t always look so good when you try it at home.

The other benefit to coming to our studio is we’ll create a custom choreography for YOU based on your skills, your personality, and your song. With all the stress of planning a wedding, it’s nice to have someone make it easy and take care of you.

When you sign up for our wedding package, you simply pick a song and show up to the studio – we’ll take care of the rest:  

• Creating a special routine for you
• Teaching you step-by-step
• Making the process easy and enjoyable
• Sharing tips that make your dance look and feel great
• Giving you the time and space to practice
• Keeping you on track so you feel confident and ready for your wedding dance

All of our wedding packages are designed for absolute beginners with no natural abilities or dance coordination. You’ll have a beautiful dance and be successful with any of our wedding dance packages.

The difference is, the more lessons you take - the more intricate and exciting we can make your dance. But no matter if you choose 3, 5, or 10 lessons – you’ll feel confident and ready on your wedding day.

And of course, you can always add more lessons to your package if you decide you want more time to practice.

We can help you select a song if you have a few choices and can’t decide. But it helps if you choose a song together before your first lesson. This allows us to spend your lesson time teaching you to dance rather than listening to song options.

Here’s our top tips for selecting the perfect song for your first dance:

• Choose a song that’s special and meaningful to BOTH of you. If you have a favorite artist that your fiancé hates, pick something else.
• Choose a song that will stand the test of time.
• Choose a song that speaks to your love, your feelings, and your relationship.
• Don’t worry about the tempo or style of dance. We can create a first dance for any song you choose.
• Bonus points if you select a song that matches the vibe of your wedding:  sophisticated, country, whimsical, ect.
• Choose a song that expresses your personalities (sexy, proper, playful, romantic, ect).
• Make sure the lyrics and song story are appropriate for a wedding.
• Remember this will be the song you’ll dance to for the rest of your lives. Make it a great one!

We recommend the 3 Lesson Wedding packages for Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances. If you feel you’d like extra sessions, you may purchase the 5 Lesson Wedding package.

Option 1:  Get Started + Group Classes and/or Private Lessons
If you have a few months before the wedding, we recommend beginning with our Get Started [ADD LINK] new student special. Get Started is 50% off your first month of classes and includes 1 Welcome Lesson, 4 Group Classes, and 1 Dance Party. 

Then you may continue with group classes (and/or private lessons) after that. There’s no better way to prepare for a crowded reception dance floor.

Option 2:  Private Lessons
If you prefer private instruction or have less than a month before the wedding, we recommend the 3 Lesson or 5 Lesson Wedding packages.

To begin, purchase online and then call us to schedule your first lesson.

We have a 24 hour cancellation policy for Wedding Lessons. Cancellations made within 24 hours will be charged as a full lesson.

Look up - our studio is on the second floor :-) Revolution Ballroom is located on Boundary Street in the Beaufort Town Center. Our studio is behind Outback Steakhouse in the brown brick two-story building on the right side of the plaza. Revolution Ballroom is on the second floor above Michael’s Salon. There is plenty of free parking, and you may access the studio by stairs or elevator.
