Classes are ongoing and you can start any Monday. You’ll begin with your Welcome Lesson Monday at 7 PM and then attend your first group class Tuesday at 7 PM. Note that you’ll need to enroll 24 hours in advance.

You may sign up now and start later. By default, our Get Started new student special is valid for 30 days from the date of purchase. But if you need to delay your start - enroll online and then contact us after purchase to adjust your start date. Either way, once you begin your Get Started package, you'll have 30 days to attend your Welcome Lesson, Group Classes, and Dance Party.

Our Get Started package is designed for busy schedules, so it's ok if you miss a week. While we don't offer make-up classes with this special 50% off introductory offer, each class is independent  - so you won't get left behind if you can't make every class. 

And since we learn by repetition, our Intro level is designed to repeat every three weeks. So you’ll make-up what you missed in the next rotation.

We have a 24 hour cancellation policy for group classes, private lessons, and dance parties. Cancellations made within 24 hours will be deducted from your Get Started package.

We don't offer refunds for Get Started after first use of this package. And we cannot transfer your remaining classes to another person or give you a partial credit for unused classes.

Yes! Get Started makes a fabulous gift and you may purchase online and then contact us to let us know the recipient. We offer physical gift cards that you may pick up at the studio or we can mail a gift certificate if you live out of town.

You don’t need to bring a partner to attend any of our events :-) Singles, as well as couples, are welcome and encouraged to join our group classes, private lessons, and dance parties.

The best way to see if our classes are right for you is to sign up so you can experience them fully. We don’t allow people to watch our group classes as it can make new students feel uncomfortable.

For your first class, please arrive 5-10 minutes early. This will allow us time to register all new students so we can start class on time.

We recommend nice, casual attire for your ballroom classes. This could be pants, polo shirt or button-up, skirt, or a dress. You don’t need to buy any special clothes to attend class. Choose something that's comfortable and that you can move in - nothing too hot like a sweater or too tight such as a pencil skirt. While stretchy and wicking fabrics are great, you won’t need to wear fitness attire.

When you’re ready, we offer a full line of ballroom dance practice wear at our studio boutique. Practice wear is made with stretchy, wicking fabrics and is designed to accentuate your movements so you can look your best and stay cool while dancing.

Wear comfortable shoes with a smooth sole such as a dress shoe or tennis shoe. Anything besides flip-flops will work as long as you feel comfortable and can dance for an hour. Shoes that lace up or have an ankle strap will stay in place better while dancing. We don't recommend high heels unless they’re dance shoes. Also avoid heavy, bulky shoes such as work boots.

We don't require any special shoes for the Intro level, but they are required at the higher levels. After your first month of classes, you may want to invest in suede-soled dance shoes. They make a big difference, even for beginner dancers, and you’ll be able to turn and control your movement more easily.

Dance shoes come in all styles, from a flashy latin heel, to a comfortable practice shoe, dressy wingtips, and everything in between. You can buy shoes at our studio boutique or we can order something special for you. Please see our Guide To Buying Dance Shoes for helpful tips.

Only enrolled students are permitted in the ballroom during class. We don't allow unattended children to be at the studio. This fosters the learning environment and enables our staff and students to focus during class.

Good question! Since you’ll be in close proximity when dancing with others, be extra diligent with your personal hygiene. Here are some tips:

• Brush your teeth before class and use mouthwash or breath mints during class to refresh as needed. 
• If possible, shower before class - especially if you were doing something sweaty (like yardwork or exercise) before class.
• Wear clean clothes
• Wash your hands before and after class
• Avoid eating strong-smelling foods before class (garlic, tuna, ect)
• Avoid wearing perfume and cologne
• Use deodorant

Introduce yourself to new partners before dancing. Smile and enjoy yourself as this will put your partner at ease. Thank each person after the dance. Offer a compliment to your partner if you wish.

Don’t correct or criticize your partner while dancing. As dancers, our only responsibility is to focus on improving own dancing. It’s counterproductive and inappropriate to give suggestions for improvement or to offer unsolicited help or feedback to your dance partners.

This is the biggest complaint we get from our dancers - when other students presume to correct their dancing. Don’t be that person!

The best way to help someone is to allow them to learn and progress at their own pace.

Good etiquette and common courtesy ensures everyone has an enjoyable dance experience.

At Revolution Ballroom we teach the most popular styles of partner dance including:

• Smooth Dances:  Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz
• Rhythm Dances:  Rumba, Cha Cha, Mambo, East Coast Swing, Bolero
• Club, Latin, and Social Dances:  Salsa, Bachata, Argentine Tango, West Coast Swing

We also offer Belly Dance.

Look up - our studio is on the second floor :-) Revolution Ballroom is located on Boundary Street in the Beaufort Town Center. Our studio is behind Outback Steakhouse in the brown brick two-story building on the right side of the plaza. Revolution Ballroom is on the second floor above Michael’s Salon. There is plenty of free parking, and you may access the studio by stairs or elevator.

Elevator info: You will need an elevator code in the evenings. Elevator instructions: press 2121, press *, then press the regular elevator call button.

We don’t offer refunds for gift certificates or for packages after first use. For example, if you buy a 5 class pass, but only attend 2 classes, you won’t receive a partial refund or be able to transfer unused classes to another person. Revolution Ballroom is a joyful and welcoming space to learn and connect in a safe environment. 

Inappropriate behavior, including but not limited to unwanted sexual advances or language; intoxication, discrimination based on race, creed, sexual orientation, or gender; or intentional physical or emotional harm will result in you being asked to leave the premises immediately and forfeiting the remainder of your class or services.

We have a non-fraternization policy between our ballroom teachers and their students. Students and teachers may not date or have personal relationships.

Ballroom teachers are not permitted to attend non-studio sponsored social events with their students.

Do not contact your teacher on social media, email, or ask for their phone number. Contact the studio (not your teacher) with questions about classes or updates on your dance schedule.
