Our Revolution Ballroom Dance Parties are held every 2nd Saturday of the month, 7-10 PM. We post any changes to our party schedule online; please check our calendar for current details.

Be social and welcoming of new dancers
Ask a variety of partners to dance, and graciously accept invitations to dance when asked.

Welcome new dancers and visitors to the studio by asking them to dance, introducing them to others, and helping make them feel at home in our happy dance community.

No Teaching on the Social Dance Floor
Dance parties are not the time or place to teach or learn new moves. The music is loud, the floor is crowded and it’s not practical to conduct a mini private lesson during the dance party.

So don’t ask your teacher, partner, or other dancers to help you remember moves or show you new steps. Save questions for your next private lesson or group class.

Declining dances
In general, you should accept a dance when invited. If you choose to decline, do so politely, then be sure to sit out that particular song. So once you decline a dance, you may not dance with someone else until the next song.

Don’t correct your partner
In order to provide a comfortable and supportive dance environment for all, we encourage students to focus on improving their own dancing. Offering corrections, suggestions for improvement, and unsolicited feedback to your partners at our studio is not permitted.

We recommend dressy or cocktail attire for our dance parties. While many people enjoy dressing up to attend our parties, this is not required.

Some parties have a special theme, and in this case, attire will be specified. Dressing for the theme is optional, and you’re always welcome to wear whatever you enjoy and is comfortable for you.

If you don’t have dance shoes - wear comfortable shoes with a smooth sole such as a dress shoe or tennis shoe. Anything besides flip-flops will work as long as you feel comfortable and can dance for an hour. Shoes that lace up or have an ankle strap will stay in place better while dancing. We don't recommend high heels unless they’re dance shoes. Also avoid heavy, bulky shoes such as work boots.

We don't require any special shoes for our dance parties, but if you dance regularly you may want to invest in suede-soled dance shoes. They make a big difference, even for beginner dancers, and you’ll be able to turn and control your movement more easily.

Dance shoes come in all styles, from a flashy latin heel, to a comfortable practice shoe, dressy wingtips, and everything in between. You can buy dance shoes at our studio boutique or we can order something special for you. Please see our Guide To Buying Dance Shoes for helpful tips.

Our playlist features a mix of music including:

• Smooth - Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, & Viennese Waltz
• Rhythm - Rumba, Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, Bolero, & Mambo
• Salsa & Bachata
• Argentine Tango

Our dance party includes a 30-minute beginner group lesson, 2.5 hours of social dancing, and light refreshments.

We don’t serve alcohol or allow BYOB at our dance parties, so please plan accordingly.

Yes! Our parties are open to the public (ages 18 & up) and singles and couples are welcome.

Yes, while all are welcome to come and enjoy our party ambiance - all attendees are required to pay for admission in order to attend our dance party (whether you plan to participate or not).

Yes, no partner is needed to come and enjoy our dance parties.

In order to maximize enjoyment for all, our parties are open to ages 18 & up.

Yes, we offer a beginner lesson so newcomers can learn a few steps and check out our dance party. For maximum enjoyment, we recommend enrolling in our Get Started new student special which is designed to prepare you to dance at parties and social events like this.

At Revolution Ballroom we teach the most popular styles of partner dance including:

• Smooth Dances:  Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz
• Rhythm Dances:  Rumba, Cha Cha, Mambo, East Coast Swing, Bolero
• Club, Latin, and Social Dances:  Salsa, Bachata, Argentine Tango, West Coast Swing

We also offer Belly Dance.

Look up - our studio is on the second floor :-) Revolution Ballroom is located on Boundary Street in the Beaufort Town Center. Our studio is behind Outback Steakhouse in the brown brick two-story building on the right side of the plaza. Revolution Ballroom is on the second floor above Michael’s Salon. There is plenty of free parking, and you may access the studio by stairs or elevator.

Elevator info: You will need an elevator code in the evenings. Elevator instructions: press 2121, press *, then press the regular elevator call button.

We don’t offer refunds for gift certificates or for packages after first use. For example, if you buy a 5 class pass, but only attend 2 classes, you won’t receive a partial refund or be able to transfer unused classes to another person. We also don't offer refunds if you cancel within 24 hours of your lesson, class, or party.

We recommend starting with a new student special or drop-in so you can try our classes and see if they're right for you.

Revolution Ballroom is a joyful and welcoming space to learn and connect in a safe environment. 

Inappropriate behavior, including but not limited to unwanted sexual advances or language; intoxication, discrimination based on race, creed, sexual orientation, or gender; or intentional physical or emotional harm will result in you being asked to leave the premises immediately and forfeiting the remainder of your class or services.

We have a non-fraternization policy between our ballroom teachers and their students. Students and teachers may not date or have personal relationships.

Ballroom teachers are not permitted to attend non-studio sponsored social events with their students.
