Perfect the Promenade Position

Perfect the Promenade Position! 🌟

Promenade is a dance position used in the smooth dances. Other than Closed Position, Promenade is the most commonly used to navigate the floor. Dancing promenade correctly will add elegance to your dancing and ensure your partner has a comfortable experience.

Top Tips for Perfect Promenade
  • Maintain Offset Position:  In order to keep the four tracks of the feet, the follower will be positioned behind the leader in Promenade.
  • Don’t Break the Frame:  Maintain your arm in front of your body when turning to Promenade (leader’s right and follower’s left). Keep your torso turned toward your partner. Also, don’t straighten the front arm (leader’s left and follower’s right).
  • Look in the Direction of Travel:  In promenade the head turns to look in the direction of travel, usually down the line of dance.
Practice the Promenade Position to elevate your ballroom dancing and bring a graceful touch to every step! ✨
