You don’t need to bring a partner to attend any of our events :-) Singles, as well as couples, are welcome and encouraged to join our group classes, private lessons, and dance parties.

The best way to see if our classes are right for you is to sign up so you can experience them fully. We don’t allow people to watch our group classes as it can make new students feel uncomfortable.

For your first class, please arrive 5-10 minutes early. This will allow us time to register all new students so we can start class on time.

Argentine Tango group classes - nice casual

Wear clothing that's comfortable and that you can move in. Stretchy and wicking fabrics are great, but don't wear work-out clothes as Argentine Tango is an elegant activity :-)

We offer dance clothing for sale at our studio boutique. Practice wear includes mix-and-match pieces such as dance pants, skirts, dresses, shirts and tops. These pieces feature wicking materials to keep you cool, flowy fabrics to enhance your movement, and stylish designs to elevate your look.

You're welcome to purchase dance attire if you wish, but it's not required for class.

Wear comfortable shoes with a smooth sole such as a dress shoe or tennis shoe. Anything besides flip-flops will work as long as you feel comfortable and can dance for an hour. Shoes that lace up or have an ankle strap will stay in place better while dancing. We don't recommend high heels unless they’re dance shoes.

We don't require any special shoes for the Intro level. After your first month of classes, you may want to invest in suede-soled dance or leather-soled Argentine Tango shoes. They make a big difference, even for beginner dancers, and you’ll be able to turn and control your movement more easily.

Only enrolled students are permitted in the ballroom during class. We don't allow unattended children to be at the studio. This fosters the learning environment and enables our staff and students to focus during class.

Good question! Since you’ll be in close proximity when dancing with others, be extra diligent with your personal hygiene. Here are some tips:

• Brush your teeth before class and use mouthwash or breath mints during class to refresh as needed. 
• If possible, shower before class - especially if you were doing something sweaty (like yardwork or exercise) before class.
• Wear clean clothes
• Wash your hands before and after class
• Avoid eating strong-smelling foods before class (garlic, tuna, ect)
• Avoid wearing perfume and cologne
• Use deodorant

Introduce yourself to new partners before dancing. Smile and enjoy yourself as this will put your partner at ease. Thank each person after the dance. Offer a compliment to your partner if you wish.

Don’t correct or criticize your partner while dancing. As dancers, our only responsibility is to focus on improving own dancing. It’s counterproductive and inappropriate to give suggestions for improvement or to offer unsolicited help or feedback to your dance partners.

This is the biggest complaint we get from our dancers - when other students presume to correct their dancing. Don’t be that person!

The best way to help someone is to allow them to learn and progress at their own pace.

Good etiquette and common courtesy ensures everyone has an enjoyable dance experience.

We recommend signing up for group classes at least 24 hours in advance. This is to ensure that your class isn't canceled due to low enrollment and so you'll automatically be notified of any schedule changes or class cancellations.

If you’re unable to enroll in advance, yes - you can still come to class :-) Just be sure to check our schedule online to ensure there aren’t any last-minute class cancellations.

If you’re a new student and haven’t enrolled online, please arrive 15 minutes early to complete your registration at the front desk.

Our group classes are ongoing and you can start anytime! No need to wait until the beginning of the month to begin.

Yes, you can drop-in to our group classes or you can purchase a discounted class pass. We offer 5 and 10 class passes that are valid for 3 months. We also offer monthly studio memberships.

If you take one class per week, we recommend a 5 class pass.

If you take two or more classes per week, we recommend a 10 class pass.

This ensures you have ample time to use all your classes before they expire.

Since levels vary widely by studio and region, we ask dancers who are new to our studio to take their first class at the Intro level (or take a private lesson if you prefer) so your teacher can assess your level and recommend the best placement for you. When you’re ready to move-up, just ask your teacher.

We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. For late cancellations, a visit will be deducted from your pass.

Look up - our studio is on the second floor :-) Revolution Ballroom is located on Boundary Street in the Beaufort Town Center. Our studio is behind Outback Steakhouse in the brown brick two-story building on the right side of the plaza. Revolution Ballroom is on the second floor above Michael’s Salon. There is plenty of free parking, and you may access the studio by stairs or elevator.

Elevator info: You will need an elevator code in the evenings. Elevator instructions: press 2121, press *, then press the regular elevator call button.

We don’t offer refunds for gift certificates or for packages after first use. For example, if you buy a 5 class pass, but only attend 2 classes, you won’t receive a partial refund or be able to transfer unused classes to another person. We also don't offer refunds if you cancel within 24 hours of your lesson, class, or party.

We recommend starting with a new student special or drop-in so you can try our classes and see if they're right for you.

Revolution Ballroom is a joyful and welcoming space to learn and connect in a safe environment. 

Inappropriate behavior, including but not limited to unwanted sexual advances or language; intoxication, discrimination based on race, creed, sexual orientation, or gender; or intentional physical or emotional harm will result in you being asked to leave the premises immediately and forfeiting the remainder of your class or services.

We have a non-fraternization policy between our ballroom teachers and their students. Students and teachers may not date or have personal relationships.

Ballroom teachers are not permitted to attend non-studio sponsored social events with their students.
