These workshops will offer technique and training that will be of value to any dancer – beginner through advanced intermediate level. Be sure to join us for all the workshops to deepen and develop your ability to express and enjoy the beauty of Argentine Tango.
Workshop 1: Foundations of Tango
In this workshop you’ll deepen your understanding of what makes Tango such a unique and beautiful dance: the embrace, the connection, and the walk. Refining your foundation allows you to more fully explore and express the beauty of Tango.
Workshop 2: Transitioning with Grace and Fluidity
In this workshop we’ll explore possibilities using combinations of walks in normal and cross system, inside and outside partner. You’ll also deepen and develop your ochos. Cultivating your ability to transition with grace and fluidity enables you to connect more deeply with your partner and the music.
Workshop 3: Fun with Giros
In this workshop we’ll have some fun using circular movements with grapevine action. We’ll cover the Molinete for the followers and pencil actions for the leaders. Enrich your execution of these essential actions and become a desired dance partner at any Milonga!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Harby Gonzalez is a native of Colombia, South America and is a graduate of the National School of Argentine Tango, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has been dancing Argentine Tango since the age of 12 and started performing professionally at the age of 18. Harby has toured and performed in several Tango productions around the world, including “Bajo el ala del Sombrero”, directed by Roberto Erbin. He has also performed with Mariano Mores, one of the best known Tango Orchestras in the world. Harby was a dancer for the Washington-based orchestra QuinTango with which he toured, performing throughout the USA and abroad. His collaborations with QuinTango include: a seven-year run at the Spoleto festival, performing with the National Symphony Orquestra at the George Washington theater, and a Tango cruise through South America. Harby has been teaching and performing in the United States since 1995 when he brought Argentine Tango to much of the southeastern region. Harby is currently based at Emerald Ballroom in Columbia, South Carolina where he teaches and leads a performance group.
